This blog is the first step towards building a community dedicated to the art and craft of setting, a place where people can meet and discuss all things related to route setting. This site will give a bullhorn and soapbox to all the anonymous men and women turning the wrenches in climbing gyms around the world. The voice of the route setter has long been absent from the dialog within the indoor climbing community, though they hold enormous sway over the future of climbing. We hope to begin a conversation about setter education, methodology, industry standards and all other topics that have been neglected and ignored by most in the climbing world.

Routesetter.com will also be a place for setters to build their career – as employee, freelancer or volunteer – by connecting quality route setters with gyms that understand the value of excellent setting. For those not actually setting but wanting a voice in the future of setting (owners, managers, climbers), you will have the opportunity to discuss, listen and of course complain.
