Where to find the Liquor Liability Exclusion in your General Liability Policy.

(This was page 19 of 66 pages in what I received from our insurance carrier) Very readable stuff ;)

Commercial General Liability Coverage Form - Page 2
2. Exclusions
This insurance does not apply to:
	c. Liquor Liability
“Bodily injury” or “property damage” for which any insured may be held liable by reason of:
(1)	Causing or contributing to the intoxication of any person;
(2)	The furnishing of alcoholic beverages to a person under the legal drinking age or under the influence of alcohol; or
(3)	Any stature, ordinance or regulation relating to the sale, gift, distribution or use of alcoholic beverages.

Yes, Boulders' GM was concerned of negative press hurting business. I don't think it would have hurt us in any way but that's what he decided. As a writer I was against it being taken down but I'm not losing a fun job over it. I encourage people to check out the thread and if you want a uncensored take on the issue please contact me at the above email.

We removed the post at the discretion of the Boulders Rock Gym where the comp was held. They requested that it be removed.

You can still discuss this important topic here and in the forum where there is already a thread started. I highly encourage you and anyone interested in the future of comps to participate in the conversation.

Mike, a forum is a place to discuss. USAC is not the final word on comps in the US and is only one idea out there on the direction of the sport. I'm dissapointed that this article is down and we can't talk about comps and what they should be like. We don't all have to agree, and we don't all have to agree that what USAC wants is how it should be. But we should be able to talk about it.

Under-agers were not drinking at this comp. This was also not a comp directed at minors and I made that clear with my invites. At no point during this comp was I intoxicated. This was no different than friends sharing a brew after work. Apparently you people aren't from Wisconsin.

This is a free website for free expression and doubt those of you who seemed so concerned have never had a drink? At the comp food and soda was also present for those who choose not to drink or who were underage.

Please direct your respectful and concise complaints to rhoadsclimbs@yahoo.com

Mike and Routesetter.com had absolutely nothing to do with this comp so please don't hold them responsible.

I've received numerous complaints from concerned parents and organizers of competitions about the depiction of alcohol and minors in this article. This is an important issue that needs to be discussed. Below is Routesetter.com's response to those concerns:

-- --
Routesetter.com is dedicated to building the worldwide community of route setters. The story that Nick Rhoads wrote was about the lifestyle of being a setter (at least for him). It wasn't about pushing standards or promoting better route setting. It was supposed to bring a little levity to an otherwise serious website.

The story does illustrate however, that we as a profession are not quite up to the professional standard we should be and have a long way to go.

I'd like to point out that the story never mentions the USAC, UIAA, IFSC or the IOC nor does it imply that underage drinking was going on. I suggest to anybody who has a problem with the way that comp was held to contact the gym mentioned in the story. I'd also encourage anyone with an opinion about Routesetter.com or any of the articles to log on and voice their concerns.

On a personal note: I'm new to this editor thing and have been making it up as I go. The website is an experiment in many ways. What do route setters want to read? What is route setting news? There is no precedent for this kind of thing. I very much appreciate the feed back and will take these concerns into consideration the next time an article like this comes across my desk.
