when i got back from fontainbleau a few years ago, the first thing i did was set circuits consisting of 15-25 problems. they basically involved problems that were already up but i put like grades together, ie the blue circuit, red circuit and the all damning white circuits.
damn i need to go back there.

Coaching a USAC team in a bouldering only gym has it's drawbacks. The kids miss out on long vertical workouts, and of course any rope climbing, so we have to travel for that. But I believe implementing circuits last year was the key to successfull improvements by all of the kids. Lots of setting involved, but knowing weaknesses and setting for them was beneficial. The big bonus to circuits was their utility. The options are plentifull, link the easy circuit without getting off the wall, Climb a wired circuit as fast as possible, sloper circuit, etc, and it really forces an endurance / power endurance mentality in an usually power based environment.
