We just built a Bachar Ladder out of PVC and rope, and our customers are loving it. However, the PVC is not to great on the hands, causing blisters, in looking at pictures of other ladders I see that people have covered the PVC with some type of tape but I can not tell what kinda tape to use.

Plain old hockey tape works pretty good. It gives a good grip yet is gentle on the hands. Go with black otherwise the white will just turn black over time.
