Hey hey everyone!

I run the climbing wall and am the head setter at Western State College in Gunnison Colorado. We have a workable bouldering wall and top-rope area, but the angles are pretty bland. I am looking for some suggestions/plans/pictures/ideas for building smaller type volumes to spice up our setting. I have seen the article detailing how to build the large size volumes, but what I am looking for is something smaller and lighter, that way I can make a lot of them with the wood I already have.

look at the pictures of any of this years world cup bouldering. Tons of examples.

I have carpentry experience but managed to make a few small pyramid ish triangles. Draw out your ideas and measure carefully and go to town with the circular saw. Or build fiberglass ones, info can be found by those who make trunk sound system set ups or probably others here.

You should check out the new volumes @ Nicros, ultra light fiberglass, perfect texture and center bolt hole for easy mounting. Best of all no carpentry experience necessary.

Plywood and Bondo, paint and sand. Try something small and learn from your mistakes. Cut a board at a 45 degree on your blade. Then place the two cut edges together and you are on your way to something. Send me a message if you need help.
