Those of you that have your climbers clip in rather than tie in.. how do you secure the biner so it doesn't get cross-loaded or stolen?

Well. Step 1 Would be to let the climber use it's own carabiner.
Step 2 is use a)2 karabiners or b)a safe biner, preferably the DMM belaymaster.

Duct tape the knot. Get a locker that is made not to cross-load. Many choices out there.

Get a biner with a captive eye.
