Custom bits?

Does anyone know if if would be feasible to get a manufacturer to make a run of custom bits?

Here's my thought:
I use a regular drill for stripping and have both 5/16" and 7/32" hex "bits" which were cut off some extra-long t-wrenches, so I'm OK for the moment. However, in the future I would like to get an impact drill, but the thought of having to have a 1/4" chuck to 3/8" socket bit and then the 3/8" socket to 5/16" hex bit seems like a pain in the butt to me

Anyone know if we could get a set of 1/4" to 5/16" (and 7/32") hex bits made, or would it be too much of a niché product to be feasible?

You could always just weld those pieces together.

I was going to say go shopping at sears for the bits and use a welder as the above post suggested. they may even have something ready to go, I know they have a quick change chuckless doohicky for drill bilts/screw driver bits - maybe change them out for hexes.

I Just use a 1/2" impact drill and i have no problems getting sockets for that

You could get some custom bits made, but it will cost you a small fortune to have a company make some one-offs for you. Having to switch between the 3/8" bit 5/16" bits isn't really a pain and you get pretty quick at it after a few days. Having the impact wrench is so worth the two seconds it takes to switch bits.
