I thought this was a recession? But all I see are new gyms popping up everywhere. And they look hot. Movement in Boulder (kinda new), Vertical Endeavors in Minneapolis, Seattle Bouldering Project, the Circuit's new gym in Portland (sweet recycled walls!) SoILL's got something brewing in St. Louis (I hope it's acid crazy) True North Climbing in Toronto, a Front Gym in Ogden. Any others?
Have any gyms closed?
Is indoor climbing really growing this much? Or is opening a climbing gym a popular way for the laid off desk jockey to blow their 401K? Where are other markets that need to be saturated?
