I know neptune and some other gear shops rent pads for a daily fee; are there any gyms out there doing the same thing?
What brands hold up best?
Renting crash pads

I wish I could rent them in all climbing areas (good ones anyway) The airlines are charging $45 one way for a pad or bag so its almost a pad per trip. I'd but one at a local gear exchange if there is one.

for what it's worth, I've flown with my Organic Full Pads on Southwest and wasn't charged a dime.
As far as renting, I've never seen gyms doing it, but some from gear shops and other sorts of places, like the camp store at HP40. Has anyone ever checked whether the REI gear rental store rents crash pads? I'm guessing probably not.

You can rent Organic full pads at the Hueco Rock Ranch now. They got 10 brand new ones this winter. I think it was $5 per day. Southwest Airlines is always free to check one bag.
