Awesome!
Does anyone know when the deadline is to turn in forms and what not to be a USAC Cert. coach?

I was just thinking about asking fellow coaches on here for advice. Thanks for the new forum! We have a youth climbing team though it is more of a for fun activity. We teach a lot of basics like belaying and such but I'd like to start incorporating some friendly competition. Any ideas to get this off the ground?

i would suggest getting your group together and going to your local ABS comp this fall. it can be a "for fun" trip for sure. that may jumpstart something you never imagined.

Tyson is totally right, and traveling with a team is A lot of fun.
But even easier then that would be start with some mock competitions.
Before a comp we usually run mock comps with all the levels in our junior program, they have A lot of fun and still learn comp strategy.you can even set some brand new problems and have a finals.
It is definitely the cheapest way to go, but if you guys could travel for an ABS comp i'm sure A lot of your kids would come back super stoked to train hard and compete.
